Prepainted rolled steel is a flat steel product that is painted with a protective decorative paint. Polymer coatings are available in a wide range of colors as well as matt, glossy or decorative natural finishes (granite, wood, etc.).

PPGI is pre-painted galvanized iron, also known as pre-coated steel, coil-coated steel, color-coated steel, etc., usually with hot-dip galvanized steel substrate. The term is an extension of GI, which is the traditional abbreviation for Galvanized Iron.Galvanizing protects the base steel by providing cathodic and barrier protection. The paint coating acts as a barrier protection to the hot-dip galvanized coating, significantly reducing the corrosion rate of zinc.

Galvanized steel (PPGI) is completely coated with zinc, while Galvalume steel (PPGL) is coated with aluminium, zinc and a small amount of silicone. This provides superior corrosion resistance and durability compared to typical galvanized coatings

PPGI coils are primarily used in the automotive and construction industries. It is usually used to make building materials such as roof panels, roof tiles, sandwich panels, etc.
